Job summary

South West Water seeks an experienced Restoration Manager to lead peatland restoration across the South West. You will work with the Mires Manager and multiple partners to plan and deliver restoration activities, manage contractors, and ensure safety and governance across a landscape-scale programme.

The role involves engaging with landowners and stakeholders, coordinating procurement, and driving continuous improvement. Interviews on 30 November; closing date 22 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Degree in a Natural Science discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex restoration projects.
• Experience developing restoration or site management plans.
• Experience working with landowners, land managers and external stakeholders.
• Budget management and financial forecasting skills.
• Experience with GIS and mapping software.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of large-scale peatland restoration projects across the South West.
• Develop and manage the SWPP five-year restoration work programme.
• Manage and support restoration teams and partner organisations.
• Oversee procurement activities, contractor performance and budget forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including CDM.
• Build relationships with landowners, tenants, partners and external stakeholders.
• Lead programme reporting and governance activities.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in restoration delivery.
