Job summary

The Griffin Inn in East Sussex is seeking an ambitious Sous Chef to join a busy, quality-led kitchen. You will lead a small team, help develop seasonal menus and ensure first-rate cooking that you can be proud of.

We offer a clear path to Head Chef, ongoing training, free meals on shift, staff discounts, a pension and 28 days holiday, with compensation to be discussed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Sous Chef or senior chef de partie ready to step up.
• Passion for cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Hands-on leader who motivates the team.
• Strong understanding of GP, labour control and kitchen standards.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Support Head Chef Jakub in daily kitchen operations.
• Contribute to seasonal menus and specials to drive the business forward.

• An experienced Sous Chef, or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up

• A hands-on leader who develops and motivates the team
• Strong organisational skills with a good understanding of GP, labour control and kitchen standards
• Excellent food quality, communication and attention to detail
• A positive attitude and a desire to help drive the business forward
