We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our new kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and production. French and Italian cuisine experience is preferred. The position requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Duties
  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and production activities.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and stock control.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained, cleaned, and operated safely.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to menu development by providing input on seasonal dishes and specials.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing kitchen teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
  • A passion for culinary arts, creativity in menu planning, and an eye for detail.
  • French, Italian and Modern English cuisine experience is preferred.
