Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in large scale catering (60-80 covers).
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen equipment.
  • DBS check is required for this role.

  • Support supervision and development of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Manage stock control and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef when required.

Permanent | £25,126 PA | Full Time | Southend

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to support the delivery of high quality catering services. The successful candidate will assist in managing kitchen operations and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and serving diverse menus
  • Support supervision and development of kitchen staff
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Manage stock control and assist with ordering supplies
  • Deputise for the Head Chef when required
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in large scale catering (60-80 covers)
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • DBS check is required for this role
  • Level 1 and Level 2
Working Hours:
  • Rolling shift pattern: Early shift (7am – 3pm) and Mid shift (10am – 6pm)
  • Working every other weekend
