About the Role
Lead daily kitchen operations when the Head Chef is off-site. Produce high‑quality food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, ensuring a smooth, efficient kitchen each day.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the kitchen team to maintain smooth daily operations.
- Prepare dishes to recipe specifications, upholding high standards of taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor and minimise food waste, track stock levels, place orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Receive deliveries and store all items correctly following FIFO principles.
- Maintain exceptional hygiene standards and oversee regular deep cleans.
- Ensure all staff are fully trained in their sections and compliant with food safety procedures.
- Support team development and lead by example in a positive, professional environment.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a fast‑paced senior kitchen role.
- A relevant culinary qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- A proactive leader who can motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and regular vehicle access (essential).
- Eligibility to work in the UK and residency for at least the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass enhanced DBS and full security vetting.
- Successful trade test will be required as part of the interview process.
