Loungers is hiring a full-time Sous Chef for Brezo Lounge, a local café bar. You’ll lead the kitchen, support the Head Chef, and ensure every dish leaves the pass proud of its quality. Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a sous chef or senior chef in a high-volume kitchen.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Commitment to high standards on the pass and safety.
• Ability to manage prep, par, stock, and handovers.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth and on spec from prep through to the final plate.
• Be Head Chef’s right hand — support day-to-day operations and cover in their absence.
• Set high standards for quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety on the pass.
• Own key kitchen routines including prep/par, stock control, waste, orders and handovers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver great food each shift.

What you’ll Do

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand — supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence, and helping the kitchen deliver consistently strong results
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift
