Job description

Sous Chef

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join a leading Catering business based in Andover. This is a full time, permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the whole kitchen team, ensuring new starters are fully onboarded and trained.
  • Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure team have a full understanding of HACCP and SALSA standards, ensuring that the 5 star hygiene rating is maintained.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that food safety practices are observed by self and all team members.
  • Ensuring the safe handling and storing of all food items.
  • Support the Head chef with creation of new menus.
  • Create, communicate and maintain the food specifications ensuring they meet the appropriate standards whilst strictly following the company specifications.
  • Cover Head Chef duties as and when required.
  • Ensure self and team provide the highest level of customer service at all times.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering of sufficient stock.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef
  • Experience leading a team
  • Excellent level of English
  • HCCAP Level 2 trained is advantageous
  • Minimum of Level 2 Food & Hygiene
  • Allergen certification
  • First Aider at work certification

This Sous Chef position is paying £38,000 depending on experience. You will be required to work 40 hours per week but the hours do vary. Either working 8am - 4.30pm or 10.30am - 7pm Working against a roster.
