Foodbuy Group, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is recruiting a Sourcing Buyer (Food) for NHS Supply Chain. The role combines procurement, sourcing and commercial responsibilities across hybrid UK sites such as Chertsey, Wakefield or Daresbury, with a focus on coordinating procurement exercises through to contract award.

The ideal candidate has procurement or sourcing experience, excellent organisational skills and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifikationen

• Background in procurement, sourcing or related commercial functions.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience working with stakeholders and maintaining records.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow defined processes with proper escalation when required.

We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented Sourcing Buyer to support the delivery of procurement and sourcing activity across NHS Supply Chain: Food. Working closely with sourcing, procurement, account management and NHS stakeholders, you'll help coordinate procurement exercises from initial briefing through to contract award.

Sourcing Buyer - The role

• Delivering procurement sourcing exercises and framework call-offs from planning through to award.
• Preparing and issuing procurement documentation including specifications, evaluation criteria, supplier communications and award documentation.
• Managing tender activity through e-sourcing platforms, ensuring accurate records are maintained throughout the procurement process.
• Coordinating supplier clarifications, submissions and evaluation activities.
• Supporting governance processes and ensure procurement activities follow agreed procedures and public procurement requirements.
• Working closely with Category Teams, Account Managers, NHS stakeholders and suppliers to keep projects progressing smoothly.
• Building positive stakeholder relationships and provide a professional, customer-focused service throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Contributing to maintaining consistent and effective sourcing processes across the wider team.

What we're looking for

• A background in procurement, sourcing, commercial or a related business function.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with stakeholders and maintaining accurate records.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow defined processes while recognising when escalation is required.

It's a bonus if you have...

• Experience supporting tendering activities or framework call-offs.
• Public sector or NHS procurement experience.
• Experience using procurement platforms such as Jaggaer, Atamis or similar e-sourcing systems.
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations and governance.
• Experience within the food, foodservice or wider supply chain sector.
