Job summary

Consult in Watford seeks an experienced contract Solutions Architect to lead the design of a major customer ordering and fulfilment transformation. You’ll define how commerce, CRM, order management, fulfilment and billing platforms work together. The role covers reviewing existing systems, defining the target architecture, producing documentation and a phased delivery roadmap, and leading workshops with stakeholders and partners. You must be able to attend the Watford office three days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Solution Architecture experience across complex business systems.
• Previous delivery of commerce, order management or fulfilment solutions.
• Experience integrating different CRM platforms, including Salesforce, with wider enterprise systems.
• Ability to evaluate platform options and explain technical and commercial trade-offs.
• Experience designing reliable cross-system processes, including failure handling and reconciliation.
• Confident stakeholder communication and practical architecture documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review existing systems and define the target architecture.
• Design the end-to-end customer order journey, including fulfilment, activation and billing.
• Establish system responsibilities and ownership of customer, product and order data.
• Assess third-party platforms and recommend where to buy, configure, reuse or build.
• Define integrations using APIs, events, messaging and workflow orchestration.
• Produce architecture documentation, key decisions and a phased delivery roadmap.
• Lead workshops with business stakeholders, engineering teams and external partners.
