Job summary

SRM Digital is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design end-to-end architectures using Java, Spring Boot, microservices and GCP in a UK-based environment.

You'll define architecture standards, security, scalability and high availability, design REST APIs and event-driven solutions, and guide teams across DevOps, Security and Product to deliver robust, observable systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years as a Solution Architect.
• Hands-on Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, IAM, Kubernetes/GKE, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Microservices, API Management, Event-driven architecture, GraphQL/gRPC.
• Knowledge of Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd) and observability tools (Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience or strong understanding of AI/ML and Agentic AI.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and governance for large-scale systems.
• Define architecture standards, design patterns, security, scalability, and high availability.
• Design REST APIs, event-driven solutions, Kafka/Pub-Sub, and API Management with Apigee/Cloud Endpoints.
• Provide guidance on Authentication & Authorization using OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, and IAM.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Product teams to deliver robust, observable solutions.
• Support architecture reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
