Job summary

FalconSmartIT is seeking a Solutions Architect for a 6-month FTC in Guildford, onsite, to lead architectural work across hybrid and on-prem/cloud estates.

You will support DevOps, Govern architecture decisions, and manage suppliers through RFI/RFP cycles, while influencing stakeholders from C-Suite to developers.

Qualifications

• Experience documenting and architecting solutions across hybrid/on-prem/cloud estates.
• Ability to align architecture with DevOps, agile practices, and governance.
• Proven involvement in RFI/RFP processes and supplier assurance.
• Lead architecture design authorities within enterprise governance and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Define, document and govern architectural approaches for large projects.
• Provide architectural support to DevOps and ensure alignment with Agile practices.
• Lead technical selections and supplier assessments through RFI/RFP cycles.
• Influence stakeholders from C-Suite to project teams with clear architecture decisions.
• Communicate architectural decisions using diverse methods for technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Title: Solutions Architect

Job Type: Contract/FTC (6 months duration)

Job Description:

Skills & Experience:

• Experience defining, documenting, and architecting solutions across a hybrid and on-premise cloud estate, potentially requiring integration with legacy technologies and products for large projects/programmes
• Experience of providing architectural support and assurance to DevOps team and an application of Agile practices would be advantageous.
• Experience with Technical Selection and RFI/RFP processes and undertaking supplier assurance of third party products.
• Experience leading architectural design authorities for projects and working within Enterprise Architectural Governance and Enterprise Portfolio Management frameworks.
• Stakeholder management and the ability to influence at varying levels (e.g. C-Suite, Developers, Testers, Project Managers, etc)
• Ability to convey Architecture decisions through the use of a variety of communication techniques to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Broad knowledge of IT technologies and architectural styles/patterns (e.g. Event Driven, Serverless, Microservices Architectures as well as SOA, layered).
• Applied Knowledge of the Open Agile Framework (Open.org) would be desirable but not necessary.
