Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise software development.
• Strong solution architecture background.
• Extensive Java/J2EE/Spring stack experience.

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka).

We are working with a global insurance technology and consulting business seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and deliver complex, enterprise-scale applications.

Working closely with product leadership, customers and engineering teams, you will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while driving architecture and engineering best practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the architecture and delivery of complex enterprise applications.
• Run customer discovery sessions and translate requirements into effective solutions.
• Define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Break requirements into manageable development features.
• Champion code quality, BDD, unit testing and performance optimisation.
• Support technical demonstrations, proposals and pre-sales activities.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong Solution Architecture background with 10+ years in enterprise software development.
• Extensive experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of BPM tools such as Camunda, jBPM, Activiti or Pega.
• Strong experience with APIs, OpenAPI, OIDC and OAuth 2.0.
• Experience with relational databases, Git and CI/CD tooling.
• Exposure to coding assistants, generative AI or agentic AI.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management skills.

Experience within insurance, ACORD standards, Apache Camel, cloud platforms, Kubernetes or Docker would be highly advantageous.
