Job summary

DataCareers in Bristol is seeking a highly capable SC Cleared Solution Architect with a strong background in integration architecture to join a major Central Government programme. This permanent role involves shaping integration strategy, standards and solution designs across a broad enterprise landscape.

The ideal candidate may be hands-on technically strong or more senior, with ownership of architecture governance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in solution and integration architecture across large-scale, complex environments.
• Experience delivering API-led integration, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong governance, architectural standards and artefacts production.
• Active SC Clearance and government/defence exposure is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution and integration architecture across complex enterprise environments.
• Define integration approaches covering APIs, messaging, event-driven architecture and data integration.
• Develop architecture standards, principles and governance artefacts.
• Produce clear architecture models and technical guidance.
• Work closely with delivery teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

Location: Home / Bristol (2 Days Onsite)

We are looking to recruit an SC Cleared Solution Architect with a strong Integration Architecture background to join a major Central Government programme.

This is a permanent opportunity working across a complex, multi-supplier technology environment, helping to define integration strategy, architectural standards and solution designs across a broad enterprise landscape.

We are open to candidates at different levels of seniority. This could suit a technically strong Solution Architect with deep integration expertise, or a more senior architect looking to take greater ownership of architecture, governance and stakeholder engagement.

This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work onsite 2 days a week in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution and integration architecture across complex enterprise environments
• Define integration approaches covering APIs, messaging, event-driven architecture and data integration
• Develop architecture standards, principles and governance artefacts
• Produce clear architecture models and technical guidance
• Work closely with delivery teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders
• Ensure solutions align with security, regulatory and architectural standards
• Support architectural governance and decision-making across the programme

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Integration Architect, Enterprise Architect or Senior Technical Architect
• Strong background in enterprise-scale integration architecture
• Experience with:
• API-led integration
• Event-driven architecture
• Messaging and service-oriented architectures
• Data integration and synchronisation
• Experience producing architecture models, standards and governance documentation
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in complex, secure or highly regulated environments
• Experience using Sparx Enterprise Architect
• ArchiMate experience would be highly advantageous
• Previous Central Government or Defence experience would be beneficial

You must currently hold active SC Clearance.
