Job description
Overview

Architecture is a key part of how we work at the University. Built out over the last two years, the team works in tandem with colleagues in our Product and Technology Teams, helping define how solutions are built and how our data is managed as well as providing technical expertise and defining strategy. The team is split into two areas: Solution Architecture and Technical & Data Architecture, with a Lead Architect for each section who both report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Responsibilities
  • Work across a range of projects within Solution Architecture, including potential involvement with Salesforce, SAP, integration, AWS, in-house software development and more.
  • Support both cloud environments (mainly AWS with some Azure) and on-premise infrastructure in Technical Architecture.
  • Assist the data team with metadata tooling to build on the existing use of AWS Glue Data Catalog.
  • Maintain and leverage our repository, BizzDesign, as part of architecture work.
  • Apply significant practical experience as an enterprise, solution, technical or systems architect, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University to meet current and future IT needs.
  • Challenge the status quo, work collaboratively but independently, and help elevate architecture's role across the organisation; adapt to an evolving structure and view constraints as a creative challenge.
Qualifications
  • Significant practical experience as an enterprise, solution, technical or systems architect.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University.
  • Experience with Salesforce, SAP, integration, AWS, in-house software development, and related technologies mentioned.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS primarily, some Azure) and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Experience with metadata tooling and data cataloging (e.g., AWS Glue Data Catalog).
  • Willingness to operate within a flexible, evolving organisational structure.
