Job summary

Bupa is hiring a Solution Architect at Cromwell Hospital, London. The role is hybrid (2 days on site) with a salary from £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will shape end-to-end IT solutions, lead integration across acquisitions, and balance cost, risk and value while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven 3+ years in Solution Architecture roles.
• Design end-to-end solutions for high-availability web, mobile, and cloud systems.
• Expertise in UML and C4 modelling.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Experience with web technologies and modern languages.
• Hands-on with Azure and Google Cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and integration of IT systems across sites and acquisitions.
• Assess budgets for integrations and mitigate risks.
• Translate business challenges into strategic technology solutions.

How you’ll help us make health happen

• Lead the architecture and integration / consolidation of IT systems across acquisitions and new build sites.
• Support with the assessment, due diligence and development of integration budgets for new acquisitions including the identification and mitigations of risks
• Translate business challenges into clear, strategic technology solutions, balancing cost, risk, and time to value
• Collaborate across architecture, engineering, data, security, and operations to deliver the technical vision
• Design and influence end‑to‑end solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and governance
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to support successful delivery
• Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ensure solutions meet governance, compliance, and quality standards with minimal friction

Key Skills / Qualifications

• Proven 3 years plus experience in Solution Architecture roles.
• Ability to design end‑to‑end solutions for high‑availability web, mobile, and cloud-based systems.
• Strong understanding of architecture modelling techniques such as UML and C4.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Experience designing and delivering resilient, scalable, and secure systems.
• Solid background in web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, REST, XML, and OData.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Node.js, Java, C#, or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (particularly Azure Cloud Platform and Google Cloud Platform), including PaaS solutions and workload migration.
• Expertise in modern architectural practices, including: Microservices, API‑led design , CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud‑native design patterns.
• Strong ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams, confidently engaging in detailed technical discussions.
• Experience designing data architectures that are scalable, secure, and optimised for performance.
• Healthcare industry knowledge is preferred.
• Experience integrating systems during acquisitions or the commissioning of new sites.
• You can demonstrate the ability to create Solution designs for high‑availability systems and cloud native 3rd party solutions using notation like UML and C4.
