Job summary

Leidos UK is seeking talented Solution Architects to support growth across UK programmes. You will shape optimal tech solutions, present transformation strategies, and help customers understand value in proposals and R&D projects.

In this role you will lead technical teams, influence cloud and data initiatives, and contribute to large-scale modernization across government IT programs, with eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Cloud, data science, and/or software delivery.
• Experience as a solution architect or technical volume lead on captures and proposals.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance (SC or DV).

Responsibilities

• Identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission capabilities and growth.
• Establish best practices for digital modernisation and transformation tech.
• Support business development with technical solutions, LOEs, white papers, RFIs/RFPs.
• Engage with customers during calls and in the corporate development process.
• Mentor technical talent and solution architects to address future programs.

The Role:

Due to growth within UK programmes, we will need talented Solution Architects throughout the course of 2026... As a Solution Architect, you will help customers solve their more demanding challenges via technology, modernisation, and transformation processes, utilising proven methods and solutions. As part of a creative, forward-thinking team, you will help shape solutions to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient.

Future vacancies could be available in Bristol, Farnborough or Whiteley (Hampshire).

Role Overview:

As a Solution Architect , you will work with business development, research and development, and other subject matter experts to develop optimal and differentiated Leidos solutions to be delivered on programs, in proposals, and on research and development projects. In addition to developing solutions, you will help prospective customers and partners understand the value and benefits of the Leidos solution, explain technical features and transformation strategies, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshoot potential problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• In coordination with program teams and Intel leadership, identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission enterprise capabilities resulting in increased contract growth and improved customer satisfaction
• Establish Leidos best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches related to digital modernisation and transformation technologies, including large-scale software development/architecture, Cloud migration, micro services, and others as required
• Partner with the Business Development team to support new business strategies, including the development of technical solutions, basis of estimates, white papers, industry relationships, and responses to RFIs and RFPs
• Support the Business Development team with customer calls and the Leidos' corporate business development process for larger opportunities
• Strengthen existing programs with application of technology and/or innovation by working with peer Operations teams, Group CTOs, and other Leidos Groups, and by leveraging known technology and solutions on current programs and new business pursuits
• Understand competitor and teammate technology competencies
• Review and assess vendor technology solutionsAssess and mentor the technical talent and solution architects in the organisation to meet the current and future (new market) business challenges

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Experience leading technical teams
• Strong working knowledge of Cloud, data science, and/or software delivery
• Strong technical breadth and depth in support of the government markets and in particular in government mission and enterprise IT design, implementation, operations, and modernization
• Experienced professional in contract performance with demonstrated technical leadership and customer relationship building
• Proven track record of generating on-contract-growth through insertion of innovation and technology on existing programs
• Comprehensive industry awareness of leading capability providers to enhance our technical solution offerings
• Experience as a solution architect or technical volume lead on captures and proposals
• Ability to assess, identify, recruit and retain talent to grow technical expertise on current programs and build talent for future program proposals and execution in a large organisation
• Ability to author, present, and articulate problem sets and associated solution elements in settings supporting customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives
• Ability to obtain a clearance

• You must be willing to undergo SC or DV clearance dependent upon the security requirements for the role
