Solicitor - Private Law Children & Domestic Abuse - Bath - NQ-5 years PQE

Location: Bath (Hybrid & Flexible)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)

A progressive law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified to mid-level solicitor (NQ-5 years PQE) to develop their career within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.

The Role

You'll manage a caseload of legal aid matters, working closely with senior lawyers to deliver high-quality legal advice and outstanding client service. The role also involves contributing to business development and marketing initiatives to support the growth and reputation of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of legal aid files under supervision
  • Taking client instructions and delivering commercially astute advice
  • Preparing and progressing advocacy matters
  • Building relationships with clients and developing client care skills
  • Scoping and pricing work effectively
  • Complying with SRA principles and risk management policies
  • Supporting business development projects and raising personal profile
  • Monitoring time recording, WIP, and billing
  • Aligning personal objectives with departmental strategic goals

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • NQ-5 years PQE in family law
  • Experience in private law children and domestic abuse matters
  • Ability to manage files with minimal supervision
  • Strong client management and communication skills
  • Organised and able to prioritise effectively
  • Interest in contributing to team growth and development

Working Arrangements
