Job summary

Beale & Co in Glasgow is seeking a Solicitor (NQ-3 PQE) to join its Professional Indemnity team. You will advise insurers and construction professionals on PI and professional negligence matters, handling high-value disputes with close partner support.

The role offers early responsibility and structured training within a leading specialist practice with offices across the UK. A strong interest in construction, engineering and insurance is valued.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a Scottish Solicitor.
• NQ to 3 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience in litigation, commercial disputes, insurance litigation, professional negligence or construction disputes would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, drafting and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to client service.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A genuine interest in the construction, engineering and insurance sectors.
• Demonstrable experience of living the values of our Firm.

Responsibilities

• Defending professional negligence claims against construction professionals.
• Advising on professional indemnity insurance coverage issues.
• Managing litigated matters in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
• Drafting pleadings, reports, client correspondence and legal advice.
• Working alongside partners and senior lawyers on complex and high-value disputes.
• Supporting alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and adjudication where appropriate.
• Building strong relationships with insurer and professional clients.
