Qualifications

• Recent experience handling a caseload in clinical negligence.
• 8 years+ PQE in Clinical Negligence.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills including Proclaim and Excel.
• Ability to mentor junior team members.
• Flexible and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to the team to deliver outstanding service.
• Proactive case management and progression.
• Support Team Leader in delivering the team’s financial performance KPIs.
• Maintain accurate time recording.
• Discuss and plan case tactics with the Team Leader.
• Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties.
• Draft legal documents including LOCs and letters of instruction.
• Negotiate settlements and issue/serve proceedings when required.
• Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
• Advise the team on technical issues arising from cases.

Main Responsibilities

Accountable for:

• Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
• Proactive and commercial case management and progression
• Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
• Effective and thorough time recording

Responsible For

• Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team
• Identifying cases which are ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
• Working with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the case
• Management of a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
• Co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
• Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
• Negotiating settlement and the issuing and service of proceedings should it be required
• Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team

Essential Skills And Experience

• Recent experience of handling a case load
• 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
