Filmbankmedia is a leader in non‑theatrical film distribution, representing many major Hollywood, Bollywood, and independent film studios (including Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures, Disney, 20th Century Studios, Universal, Paramount, Lionsgate and many more) in over 80 international territories. Filmbankmedia provides licensing for film screenings that take place outside of the cinema and home in environments such as outdoor screenings, community cinemas, film clubs, hotels, hospitals, coaches, trains, schools, pubs, bars, care homes, and more. Filmbankmedia operates in the UK and internationally. It is based in London but has new business representatives based in the LATAM and SEA regions.
The successful applicant will assist both the Head of Legal with all aspects of the company's legal affairs and the Director of Content and Acquisitions. The core business is the acquisition and licensing of audio‑visual entertainment, primarily feature films from Filmbankmedia's licensors, Sony, Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, UIP and many others in non‑theatrical markets worldwide. The legal department works closely with lawyers and other personnel from these studios. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a key legal role in the film industry. The legal team support all departments of Filmbankmedia including acquisitions, sales, digital services, finance, employment/HR and business development. The role will therefore require the candidate to be a team player, to have the ability to work efficiently under pressure, on both new projects and day‑to‑day tasks and to balance the requirements of a variety of stakeholders. Filmbankmedia's business is international, you will be dealing with legal issues across Europe, the Far East and in particular, Latin America. The Acquisitions team deal with Filmbankmedia's studio and producer partners, acquiring content to add to our extensive repertoire.
This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in‑office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
