Job summary

The Peninsula Group is seeking a bright, confident Solicitor with strong employment litigation and commercial experience to join Irwell Law in Manchester. You will work on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, delivering practical, client-focused advice.

You will take ownership of casework, support settlements, and help develop the employment law service for external clients, while collaborating with group companies and stakeholders across the Group.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Employment Tribunal litigation, including strategy, drafting, evidence preparation and progression to resolution.
• Provide clear, commercial employment law advice to clients and stakeholders across contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Support insured and new fee-paying clients with Employment Tribunal claims and advisory work.
• Collaborate with Group companies providing employment law input and dispute resolution support.
• Contribute to delivering Tribunal Edge and other employment law services for external clients.
• Draft and advise on settlement agreements with practical risk and resolution guidance.

Job Purpose This role involves working within Irwell Law which is based at offices in Manchester, covering contentious and non-contentious legal matters first and foremost to clients of The Peninsula Group.

Job Overview We are looking for a bright, confident Solicitor, with strong employment litigation & commercial experience, to work in a dynamic team covering a broad range of legal matters including the preparation and conduct of litigation.

The ideal candidate will have directly relevant experience and will relish assuming responsibility for a caseload in a fast-paced but supportive team environment. The focus is on remarkable client service and care, along with a firm commercial approach towards enhancing the firm’s reputation.

We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills to provide commercial and pragmatic advice to clients and a range of stakeholders within the Group.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Take ownership of Employment Tribunal litigation, including case strategy, drafting, evidence preparation, procedural compliance and progression of matters to resolution.

Deliver clear, commercial and pragmatic employment law advice to clients and stakeholders across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Support insured clients under Legal Expenses Insurance policies and new fee-paying clients with Employment Tribunal claims and related advisory work.

Work closely with companies and associated businesses within the Group, providing employment law advice, dispute resolution support and commercially focused legal input.

Support the delivery of Tribunal Edge, Irwell Law’s employment law service for external clients, ensuring a responsive, professional and client-focused service.

Draft and advise on settlement agreements, providing practical guidance on risk, terms and resolution strategy.
