Job summary

HF’s Hempsons employment team is seeking a Solicitor (1-3 PQE) to join our national practice. The role involves working on a range of complex contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with hybrid working and attendance at HF offices two days per week.

You will gain exposure to NHS-related employment work, benefit from a supportive Client Services team, and have the opportunity to develop your career within HF's inclusive, nationwide employment team.

Qualifications

• Employment law experience with at least 1 to 3 years PQE.
• Experience advising clients in health, social care and third sector organisations; NHS experience advantageous but not essential.
• Experience working on tribunal claims and handling ET litigation files.
• Interest in business development and marketing; you will have the support from our dedicated Client Services team.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including advisory work and tribunal claims.
• Gain insight into both contentious and non-contentious employment work and develop your career with HF.
• Collaborate with the national employment team across multiple offices to deliver on client needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for a Solicitor (1-3 PQE) to join our national employment team and work with us on the extensive range of services we provide. The role will involve working on a range of complex contentious and non-contentious matters including general employment advisory work, the handling of complex employment tribunal claims, high-profile cases, advising on reorganisation and redundancy issues with a focus on healthcare legislation. The national team is headed up by Andrew Davidson who is a leading lawyer with many years of experience across the public sector, more specifically the NHS. You will be able to gain an insight into all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious employment work and have a real opportunity to develop your career with HF. The Team

Our Employment team operate on a national basis across several of our offices, predominantly across our London, Manchester and Harrogate offices and offer an exceptional depth of knowledge and experience of the health and social care sectors.

With long-standing clients across the entire health and social care spectrum, we advise providers, commissioners, regulators and policy makers; providing robust, actionable and knowledgeable advice quickly across the full range of services our clients need.

What do I need?

• Employment law experience with at least 1 to 3 years PQE.
• Experience of advising clients in the health, social care and third sector organisations. Experience of the NHS would be advantageous but not essential.
• Must have experience working on tribunal claims and other contentious matters and an ability to undertake the day-to-day conduct of ET litigation files is essential
• Interested in business development and marketing; you will have the support from our dedicated Client Services team.
