Solicitor – Construction – Cardiff – 4+ Years PQE

Location: Cardiff (with hybrid flexibility)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 + Bonus

The Role

You’ll be responsible for advising a broad client base—including developers, contractors, consultants, funders and public‑sector bodies—on a wide range of construction matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke construction contracts
  • Advising on procurement strategy, risk allocation and regulatory compliance
  • Supporting project delivery and contract administration
  • Managing disputes involving defects, delays, payment issues and professional negligence
  • Acting in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and TCC litigation
  • Collaborating with Real Estate, Corporate, Banking and Commercial teams
  • Preparing legal submissions and supporting partners in complex disputes
  • Contributing to business development and internal training initiatives
Candidate Requirements
  • 4+ years PQE in construction law (UK‑based)
  • Strong experience in non‑contentious construction work
  • Experience or genuine interest in contentious construction matters
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship‑building abilities
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team development
