Job summary

Jobtailor in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a qualified solicitor with up to ~3 years PQE to support a varied public law litigation caseload. You will assist with Judicial Review proceedings, procurement litigation, and regulatory matters while advising public sector clients.

The role focuses on building client relationships, supporting senior lawyers, and contributing to the growth of the Public Law Litigation practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with eligibility to practise in England and Wales.
• Newly Qualified to approximately 3 years PQE.
• Experience in litigation via training contracts or qualifying work.
• Interest in public law, public sector, healthcare or regulatory work.
• Enthusiastic, ambitious and keen to contribute to a growing team.
• Exposure to Judicial Review, public law litigation or procurement matters is advantageous.

• Provide practical legal advice and support business development initiatives.

• Assist on Judicial Review proceedings
• Support public law disputes affecting public sector and health organisations
• Assist with procurement and procurement-related litigation
• Work on regulatory and governance disputes
• Provide advice connected to public law litigation matters
• Support senior lawyers and partners
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and client advice
• Undertake legal research and provide practical, commercially focused advice
• Develop client relationships and act as a trusted day-to-day point of contact
• Support business development, marketing initiatives and client training activities
• Contribute to the growth and profile of the Public Law Litigation practice

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor
• Newly Qualified to approximately 3 years PQE
• Experience in litigation through training contracts, qualifying work experience or post-qualification practice
• Interest in public law, public sector, healthcare or regulatory work
• Enthusiastic, ambitious and keen to contribute to a growing team
• Previous exposure to Judicial Review, public law litigation, procurement litigation, professional regulatory matters, healthcare, local government, education sector work, or advising public sector organisations is advantageous but not essential
