Job summary

IRWIN MITCHELL LLP in the United Kingdom is seeking a Solicitor (1–5 PQE) to join the Asbestos and Occupational Disease Team in Sheffield or Manchester. You will handle a high quality, rewarding caseload, collaborating closely with colleagues across our Newcastle and Leeds offices with support from regional partners.

You’ll join a respected specialist practice handling asbestos-related conditions and other workplace respiratory illnesses, taking ownership of a litigated caseload and assisting

Qualifications

• 1–5 years’ PQE with asbestos/occupational disease experience
• Ability to work with empathy and integrity
• Experience managing own caseload while assisting Partners on high‑value cases
• Enthusiasm for asbestos/occupational disease law and achieving best outcomes for clients
• Aptitude for business development and building client/referrer relationships
• Excellent drafting and legal research skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues across offices to manage a high‑quality caseload.
• Take ownership of litigated matters and support senior colleagues on high‑value cases.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients during difficult times and pursue justice.
