Job summary

University is expanding its Directorate of Legal and Governance and seeks a qualified solicitor with practising certificate to provide commercial legal advice to the University and its subsidiary companies.

You will handle a broad range of commercial matters, translating complex legal issues into clear guidance for staff across the University, with a 60/40 hybrid on-campus/onsite balance where possible.

Job description

Hours of work: Full-time - 35 hours/week

Hybrid Working: Minimum requirement of 40% on Campus, with 60% considered desirable where possible

There is an exciting opportunity to work within an expanding department of the University. You will join a team in the Directorate of Legal and Governance which provides legal advice and support to the University and its subsidiary companies.

You will have specific responsibility for a wide range of commercial matters on behalf of the University.

You will be a qualified solicitor with a practising certificate and have experience of commercial legal work. You will possess exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and will be able to communicate complex legal matters simply and concisely to staff at different levels across the University.
