Fletchers Solicitors Limited in Manchester is seeking a Grade C Solicitor to join the Clinical Negligence Birth Injury Team. You will assist on Birth Injury and Neonatal cases, manage a caseload under supervision, and mentor junior lawyers while collaborating with in-office and remote colleagues.
Key duties include collating medical records, instructing experts and counsel, and preparing for settlements or trials. Hybrid working is available with at least one day in the Manchester office weekly.
Hybrid working available – with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed. We believe we offer our colleagues the best hybrid and flexible working practices, balancing working from home with time collaborating and socialising with colleagues in our modern offices.
At Fletchers Group, we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team united by purpose. Our Clinical Negligence department is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Grade C Solicitor (or equivalent) to join us in delivering life-changing results for our clients.
The role will involve assisting a partner and senior solicitor on a variety of Birth injury and neonatal injury cases, relating to clients with brain injury, cerebral palsy, erbs palsy, ADHD/Autism, hearing and sight loss and bowel problems.
You will assist in the running of a caseload of Birth Injury/Neonatal injury cases from inception to trial, always under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements. You will also, when at the appropriate time, run a small case load of your own lower value cases.
You will assist experienced senior lawyers with collating medical records, instructing experts, instructing counsel, taking witness statements, preparing for and attending settlement meetings and preparing cases for trial. You will also be expected to delegate work to more junior members of the team and mentor and coach them in their development.
Experience of working on birth injury cases is not essential but experience of working on clinical negligence files and a passion to work in this complex and rewarding area of work is required. You will be required to work from the Manchester office a minimum of 1 day a week (more if preferred) and will be able to work remotely the rest of the week.
You will join an expanding team with a steady stream of new cases and work with experienced lawyers in a friendly and supportive environment who will support you in your learning and career development.
We reserve the right to close this role before the date specified depending on the calibre and volume of candidates.
