SOLDERER

Our client is searching for a class 3 Solderer who will be responsible for the soldering of mostly conventional (through hole) components on electronic products and board modifications for a variety of major OEM's.

The Role:

To undertake hand soldering to PCBs in accordance with defined build instructions for a variety of major OEM's in market sectors including Automotive, Clean Energy, Communication & Broadcasting, Consumer, Defence & Aerospace, Homeland Security, IP Development Platforms, Medical, Scientific Research & Space.

Main Responsibilities:

• Undertake product soldering in accordance with defined build instructions and IPC-A-610 and J-Std standards
• Dependent on experience, carry out board modifications to customer requirements
• Ensure all processes are stringently adhered to, any gaps or process improvements should be highlighted to your immediate supervision. They will ensure that effective remedial actions are taken in a timely manner including updating supporting documentation in QMS
• Compliance with the company Quality Standard and procedures

Skills and experience:

• Minimal requirement - Trained to IPC-A-610 and J-Std class 3 standards with demonstrable skills
• Modification knowledge/capabilities preferred but not mandatory
• Experience in product soldering to the relevant IPC standard always ensuring quality workmanship using mostly conventional (through hole) components although there will be occasional work with surface mount components.
• Attention to detail
• Able to follow customer drawings
• Ideal knowledge of colour codes for leaded resistors
• A current IPC certification would be a distinct advantage as would experience working to aerospace standards.
