Job summary

Rullion is seeking an experienced Solar Roofing Installer to join the Net Zero team, delivering Solar PV and Battery Storage installations across the UK. You will work alongside qualified electricians, ensuring high workmanship, safety and customer service.

This role involves nationwide travel, on-site roof work, carrying equipment, pre-work checks, and coordinating with customers throughout the project life cycle to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Roofing Occupations or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience installing domestic Solar PV roofing systems.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of MCS installation standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 and NRSWA.

Responsibilities

• Transport installation equipment, materials and tools to and from customer sites.
• Complete pre-work inspections, risk assessments and safety checks.
• Move equipment safely to the work area and roof level using approved methods.
• Remove and reinstate roof tiles safely and professionally.
• Measure, position and install mounting rails for Solar PV systems.
• Support electricians with conduit installation and cable routing between roof and ground level.
• Complete Solar PV installations safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain clean, organised and safe working environments.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report hazards or incidents.

Are you an experienced Solar Roofing Installer looking to be part of the UK's transition to renewable energy?

We're looking for skilled and motivated Solar Roofing Installers to join our growing Net Zero team, supporting the installation of Solar PV and Battery Storage systems in customers' homes across the UK. Working alongside qualified electricians, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions while ensuring excellent customer service and safety standards.

Every installation is different, making this an exciting opportunity for someone with strong roofing expertise, a proactive mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional workmanship.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Solar Roofing Installer, you will:

• Transport installation equipment, materials and tools to and from customer sites.
• Collect equipment and ensure waste materials are disposed of appropriately.
• Arrive on-site at agreed times and maintain clear communication with customers and colleagues.
• Complete pre-work inspections, risk assessments and safety checks.
• Safely move equipment from vehicles to the work area, including lifting materials to roof level using approved methods and equipment.
• Remove and reinstate roof tiles safely and professionally.
• Measure, position and install mounting rails for Solar PV systems.
• Support electricians with conduit installation and cable routing between roof and ground level.
• Complete Solar PV installations safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain clean, organised and safe working environments.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are compliant, maintained and fit for purpose.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, reporting hazards, near misses and incidents appropriately.
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at every stage of the installation.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Roofing Occupations (Roof Slating & Tiling) or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years' recent experience installing domestic Solar PV roofing systems.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of MCS installation standards.
• Full UK/EU driving licence.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including CDM 2015 and NRSWA.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying site conditions.
• Willingness to stay away from home and work nationwide when required.
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• NOCN Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Solar PV Roofer or Solar PV Mounting.
• LCL Awards or City & Guilds qualifications relating to roof-mounted Solar PV systems.
• Knowledge of MCS 012 requirements, including:
  • Roof-mounting systems
  • Weatherproofing
  • Structural load considerations
  • Flashing compliance
• Experience with DC string cabling.
• Experience with module-level power electronics such as SolarEdge or Enphase optimisers.
• Experience safely routing cables into loft spaces before electrician handover.
