Key Responsibilities of the Solar PV Maintenance Technician

Reporting directly to the Regional Team Leader, you will be responsible for the high‑quality Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of ground‑mount solar assets :

  • Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and respond swiftly to reactive fault incidents across a variety of ground‑mount solar assets.
  • System Testing and Inspection: Perform thorough Testing and Inspection (to 2391 standard) of electrical systems, including tracing, identifying, and rectifying faults where possible.
  • AC and DC Fault Finding: Lead fault‑finding and repair activities on both AC and DC electrical systems, ensuring maximum generation uptime.
  • Technical Support: Liaise directly with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot complex issues encountered on site (e.g., inverters, transformers).
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all HSE legislation and procedures when carrying out work, including supervising third‑party contractors as required.
  • Reporting: Submit daily reports detailing work carried out, system status, and any necessary corrective actions.
  • Flexibility: Participate in an occasional paid weekend rota and manage occasional working / staying away requirements.
Professional Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a dedicated Technician with proven electrical qualifications and relevant experience :

  • Solar PV Experience: Extensive experience with utility‑scale or large commercial/industrial scale solar assets.
  • Core Electrical Qualification: Minimum Level 3 electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds).
