Job summary

Valoris Group in Reading are seeking a practical Solar PV Installer to join the growing installation team. You will work on domestic Solar PV and Battery Storage projects, handling cabling, wiring and safe installation across local properties.

Permanent, full-time with 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, offering training, pension and clear progression in a supportive environment. Applicants with hands-on trade experience and a full UK driving licence are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous Solar PV installation experience, ideally 1 year or more.
• Hands-on trade background (roofing, carpentry, electrical, engineering or construction).

The Opportunity

Tethys Energy are now looking for a practical and motivated Solar PV Installer to join their growing installation team.

This role would suit someone with previous Solar PV installation experience, or someone from a hands-on trade background such as roofing, carpentry, electrical, engineering, construction or building services who is keen to build a long‑term career in renewables.

You will be working on local domestic Solar PV and Battery Storage installations, supporting both the roofing and cabling elements of projects. The role is primarily site‑based, with some storehouse duties including loading vans, unloading deliveries and managing site waste.

Additional training will be provided where required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop further within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing Solar PV systems on domestic properties
• Supporting with cabling and installation works on Solar PV and Battery Storage projects

What We Are Looking For

• Previous Solar PV installation experience, ideally at least 1 year
• Alternatively, experience from a practical trade background such as roofing, carpentry, electrical, engineering or construction
• Confident using hand tools and power tools
• Comfortable working safely at height
• Strong practical problem-solving ability
• Full UK driving licence
• Based within an easy commute of Reading
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Pride in the quality of your work

Desirable Qualifications

• Battery Storage experience
