Job description

An innovative renewable energy company is looking for a Solar Engineer for a role based in Hawaii.

With career progression, an entrepreneurial culture, and would suit a person who has a strong engineering background and solar, energy storage, and/or microgrid experience.

Applicants must be currently living in Hawaii and have existing US work rights (sponsorship not available with this role).

The Role:
  • Assist with proposal and design concepts.
  • Work with 3rd party engineers to complete technical review.
  • Secure building permits and interconnection approvals.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to finalize terms and pricing.
  • Assist with planning and managing logistics.
  • Prepare and track project schedule to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide technical support to contractors and suppliers for system installation.
  • Commission and bring projects online.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable codes & standards and certifications in the industry.
Your Experience:
  • Must have hands‑on technical experience with electrical systems.
  • Should be eager to learn, self‑motivated and collaborative.
Education and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with 2 years of experience.
  • Capable of sizing solar, battery and HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of solar, batteries, SCADA, hybrid inverters, heat pumps and hot water systems.
  • Familiar with existing and upcoming electrical and mechanical codes and standards.
