Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a renowned solar energy EPC and O&M specialist, recognised for driving sustainable power generation across Europe & UK and investing heavily in employee growth, to recruit a Solar Electrician covering Norwick and the surrounding areas.

This strategically important Solar Electrician offers a salary between $36,000-$43,000, structured development pathways, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Electrician role

Reporting to the O&M Manager, you will:

  • Carry out routine, preventative and corrective maintenance across a portfolio of utility-scale solar farms.
  • Follow internal procedures and maintenance schedules in line with annual PPM plans.
  • Conduct system testing, electrical inspections and fault diagnosis on AC and DC infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate site records, uploading daily reports through the company’s digital reporting system.
  • Complete site-specific risk assessments, highlight hazards or near misses, and work within all H&S requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors to ensure compliance with site standards and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all electrical testing documentation is compliant and audit-ready.
  • Support high-voltage operational activities where required.
  • Escalate technical or site issues to the O&M Manager promptly.
  • Travel occasionally with overnight stays and participate in a paid weekend rota when scheduled.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical Installations.
  • C&G 2382-18 (18th Edition).
  • C&G 2391-52 or equivalent testing qualification.
  • HV Authorised Person status (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid and Fire Marshal training.
  • IOSH H&S qualification (desirable).
  • Experience with central inverters and solar plant monitoring systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience in utility-scale Solar PV O&M.
  • Competence working with AC/DC distribution equipment, automation panels, CCTV and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to use industry-standard testing tools including multimeters, clamp meters and insulation testers.
