Solar Business Development Manager – Commercial (Remote)

The Opportunity

A leading renewable energy organisation is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive growth across the commercial solar sector. If you enjoy building relationships, opening new opportunities and developing long-term partnerships, this is a role where you’ll be trusted to make a real impact. You’ll be joining a well-established renewables business with a strong reputation and a solid pipeline. This role suits someone who knows the commercial solar market and is ready to step into a position where success is recognised, rewarded and linked directly to future progression. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the business attracts and wins new work, working closely with senior leadership to drive strategy while also taking full ownership of your own sales activity.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Identifying and securing commercial and industrial rooftop solar opportunities (typically 100kW–2MW).
  • Managing the entire sales process from initial outreach through to contract agreement.
  • Working closely with internal design, engineering and delivery teams.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and industry partners.
  • Using a blend of traditional consultative selling and modern outreach methods to grow the company’s market presence.
  • Contributing ideas, market insights and commercial strategies to support wider business plans.

  • Strong experience in commercial solar sales, ideally with knowledge of UK market trends, technologies and funding routes.
  • Proven track record of generating new business and nurturing long-term relationships.
  • Confident communicator with a consultative, customer-focused approach.
