Job description

Software Professional Services Manager

35 hours per week (Mon - Fri)

Office Based

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for delivering predictable, high-quality software projects while creating effortless customer experiences?

As our Software Professional Services Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of our ERP implementations and operational processes, ensuring customers experience a seamless journey from onboarding through to support handover. Your leadership will safeguard HBP’s reputation for quality, expertise, and customer care, while balancing commercial success and operational efficiency.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on turning complex projects into calm, controlled delivery experiences, empowering consultants, driving process consistency, and ensuring every customer feels confident in their solution through effective, engaging training delivery and a well-supported onboarding journey.

Overview

The Software Professional Services Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of our software implementation team across our multi-product ERP portfolio — including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage 200, Sage Intacct, Pegasus Opera 3, and Exchequer.

You’ll be responsible for a team of consultants, project coordinators, and specialists, making sure every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Your focus will be on strong project governance, customer success, and the smooth delivery of business-critical solutions.

You’ll guide, coach, and mentor your team to achieve excellence in delivery, communication, and utilisation, embedding a culture of clarity, accountability, and confidence. Collaborating with ERP Service Desk, Account Managers, Business Development Manager and Leadership, you’ll ensure customers experience a seamless journey from project initiation through to long-term partnership.

Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop the Team
  • Lead by example, creating a culture of trust, accountability, and predictable delivery.
  • Coach consultants and coordinators to own outcomes, communicate clearly, and deliver confidently.
  • Promote an “Effortless Experience” mindset — focusing on clarity, consistency, and control.
  • Support your team with targeted Training plans and Regular 121’s to manage the teams performance against not just their role but the values of our business.
Deliver Operational Excellence
  • Oversee ERP project delivery across multiple platforms, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive strong project governance, ensuring all milestones, documentation and UAT completed to standard.
  • Monitor team capacity and utilisation to maintain commercial performance and balanced workloads.
  • Ensure seamless handovers between teams with clear ownership throughout the customer journey.
  • Own utilisation, forecasting and revenue recognition to achieve margin targets.
  • Track estimate vs actual performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Champion the Customer Experience
  • Ensure customers experience a seamless, confidence-inspiring journey from start to finish.
  • Proactively manage communication, progress, risks and outcomes — eliminating surprises.
Continuously Improve & Innovate
  • Identify and remove friction using automation, AI and process standardisation.
  • Embed lessons learned to drive consistency, predictability and reduced rework.
  • Collaborate with leadership and vendors to introduce tools that enhance delivery and experience.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Proven experience in managing implementation teams.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, resource planning, and commercial control.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching and developing consultants.
  • Track record of achieving project delivery targets (time, budget, quality) within Professional Services.
  • Financial literacy and experience managing departmental budgets, utilisation, and margin.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate technical delivery into clear business outcomes.
  • Commitment to The Effortless Experience principles: clarity, simplicity, and reliability.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems.
  • Prince2, Agile, or ITIL qualification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Halo PSA, SharePoint, Power BI, or Power Automate.
  • Experience using AI or automation to optimise delivery workflows.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams or PMO frameworks.
