eFinancialCareers is recruiting for a highly capable HPC/Distributed Systems Engineer to join a greenfield central trading team in London. You will help design and build the research stack from scratch, in a fast-paced environment with substantial autonomy and influential decision-making.

The role emphasizes a deep learning–first philosophy across research and modelling, with opportunities to shape direction early and scale infrastructure alongside a committed team.

Qualifications

Unique opportunity to join this hugely successful prop trading firm as they scale significantly, building out a brand-new central trading team.

With major investment in GPUs and compute infrastructure, the aim is to build from scratch a best-in-class platform, redefining how alpha is generated. To do this, they're looking for exceptional HPC/Distributed Systems Engineers to sit within a pod-like structure - but with much more shared capital, strategic influence and collaboration across a centralised book.

Experience in the following is ideal:

• Distributed training (e.g. XGBoost via Ray)
• GPU-heavy workloads
• MapReduce-style systems

You’ll be expected to have a strong skills background in:

• Databricks, Anyscale, Cloudera, or Snowflake
• Kubernetes (K8s) for ML clusters
• Strong analytical, independent problem-solving, and communication
