A leading telecommunications company in Birmingham is seeking a Software Solution Engineer to provide technical leadership and manage complex software solutions. The role requires at least 2 years of experience in software development, with skills in automation, cloud technologies, and problem-solving. This position offers a hybrid work model, including remote work options and numerous benefits such as 25 days of annual leave and a 10% on-target bonus.
This role is primarily based out of Birmingham Snowhill.
Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days wherever.
Platforms and infrastructure we are responsible for are nationally critical with over 10 million customers, enabling them to connect to their Broadband, Wi-Fi, and various hybrid products and services.
The service data our platforms generate supports activities such as cyber defence, capacity and network management, Quality of Service analysis and more. We are transforming our platforms to make the best use of the latest cloud technologies, putting automation and data at the heart of everything we do.
The Data and Authentication Team brings together Design, Development, Test and Technical Services, all under one roof. Collectively we work in an Agile/Scrum model, positioning us to exploit the best of SRE/DevOps practices.
Primary function of this role is to provide software solution engineering technical leadership capability in the evolution and ongoing management of the platforms, working closely with stakeholders, architects and other teams.
Innovative Problem Solving: Resolve complex and strategic issues using your technical knowledge, developing bespoke solutions, especially in untested technologies or products with large-scale impact.
Code Development: Write, test, and maintain code, addressing complex aspects independently, and communicate effectively with engineering professionals.
Technology Trends: Champion emerging trends and changes in software engineering, continuously sharing knowledge with the team.
Technical Roadmap: Support and contribute to our ambitious technical roadmap, aligning with business needs, engineering goals, and partner requirements.
