You will join the Laboratory Test Means Components (TMC) development team. We are responsible for the development, modification and maintenance of test means components. These a the building blocks of the test rigs that are subsequently used across our European sites to test our various Aircraft systems. Our skill sets include Software architecture, development and integration. System model integration and Hardware components selection and integration. We also ensure that all our TMC are themselves robustly tested and their performance validated before they are available to be deployed on test benches. Here in Filton we have the pleasure to see the TMC we develop being used routinely to test the Landing Gear (including full scale landing gear extension, retraction, braking and steering rigs for all our aircraft) and Fuel Systems.
Our role is to develop the TMC that can be used for Airbus to test new technologies and system evolutions for our current fleet of aircraft and prepare for future aircraft products. Our purpose a t Airbus is to "pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world"; the ability to rigorously and exhaustively test aircraft systems is a direct enabler for that purpose.
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
