What You'll Be Doing

As Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee a technical function covering elements of; business change, technical architecture, development, quality assurance, project management, in-life technical maintenance and upgrades, to ensure that we are delivering cutting edge and best-in-class systems, integrations and solutions to Connexin and our clients. You will line manage, motivate and coach a team of approximately 10 technical specialists and play a key part in the companys technical strategy and growth.A competitive salary will be offered for this position, depending on experience and can be discussed at interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct accountability for team performance and welfare.
  • Coordination of technical enquiries, fault reports, and feature requests into the team.
  • Planning and leading software, systems and data changes.
  • Setting clear expectations and timeframes for team deliverables.
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and policies, in particular Data Protection and security requirements.
  • Championing showcases and ensuring adequate documentation.
  • Championing retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborating with the People team in hiring and retention.
  • Identifying, negotiating and on-boarding third-party resources, and driving them to deliver.
  • Cultivating a positive and engaged team culture.
  • Leading delivery activities to ensure high standards.
  • Inspiring team members to excel.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in and leading technical IT teams ideally software development
  • Experience in building, integrating and supporting high-performing systems
  • Comfortable using Jira and Confluence
  • Experience of working in a continuous deployment environment (ideally Agile / Scrum)
  • Educated to degree level in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Leadership training / qualification
