Job summary

Gearset is offering a 10-week summer internship in Cambridge. You will work as a software engineer intern, shipping real features end-to-end from design to release, collaborating with engineers and customers.

The role emphasizes autonomy, feedback, and learning in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You’ll be based at our Cambridge HQ, with a weekly pay of £550 and relocation support up to £600 per month.

Qualifications

• Be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Based in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.
• Eagerness to solve real-world problems and ship solutions.
• Familiarity with C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React is a plus.
• Provide a link to code examples (GitHub).

Responsibilities

• Ship code in your first week and make a meaningful impact to our code base and customers over 10 weeks.
• Work as a core member of the engineering team to design, build, and ship features to production.
• Learn from and share your experience with a diverse team in a feedback-driven culture.
• Collaborate with users to delight them with support, research new features, and gather feedback for ideas.
• Contribute opinions on design practices, product strategy and roadmap.

What’s the opportunity for a Software Engineer Intern at Gearset?

• Our small engineering teams start from a few core principles but evolve over time. They all work a little bit differently, depending on their preferences and the problem they're working on. You’ll impact what we build, as well as how we build it.
• A great team does their best work with context and feedback - there’s no substitute for talking directly with the people impacted by our work.
• Engineers work across the business and talk directly to customers and partners, to ensure we're solving the most impactful problems.
• Our tech stack includes C#, React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS and Kubernetes. You’ll become familiar with our pragmatically chosen stack, but you’ll also help us define what great looks like.
