Job summary

Talos Trading is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems that connect with our liquidity network. You will collaborate with product, trading support, and engineering teams to integrate new providers and support the full trade lifecycle.

You will own the integration process end-to-end, improve scalability and security, and help grow a hybrid-friendly, globally distributed engineering culture at Talos.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience; Go preferred, Java acceptable.
• BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex integration issues.
• Experience in building high-performance backend systems for fintech is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client interactions.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer in our Trading Connectivity team, you will be designing, developing, and maintaining high performance backend systems that integrate with our expansive provider network. Your tasks will involve collaboration with product managers, trading support, other engineering teams, and our clients to integrate and support new liquidity providers joining the Talos network. You will play an important role in improving the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the platform, and owning the end to end integration process from gathering requirements to deployment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, implement, test, and deploy high-performance backend systems and services, with a focus on trading connectivity

• Integrate new liquidity providers into the expansive Talos network to enhance the efficiency and value of the Talos platform

• Act as a point of contact and own the integration process from the requirements gathering stage, all the way to interfacing with the technical teams of the external providers, building, testing and successfully deploying the work to production

• Continuously improve the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the Talos platform

• Collaborate with the product team, other engineering teams, support, and our clients to develop solutions that support the full trade lifecycle, from inception to execution

• Be part of an open and transparent culture as we grow the team

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of software engineering experience, ideally in Go, or Java. We predominantly use Go but no prior experience is required.

• BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field or experience

• Demonstrated ability to assess, troubleshoot, and debug complex integration issues efficiently.

• Proven track record of building and working with sophisticated backend systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Experience in financial technology, with expertise in crypto and/or traditional finance, is a strong advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with clients and team members.
