Job summary

Palantir is seeking Software Engineers for its Infrastructure teams in London. You will contribute high-quality code to scalable platforms underpinning Palantir Foundry, Gotham and Apollo, and work on internal infrastructure like Rubix and Mission Manager.

You’ll apply your knowledge of Kubernetes-based environments, backend, frontend and storage infra, and collaborate with engineers, users and non-technical colleagues while learning rapidly and taking ownership.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering or Physics.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Willingness to learn and communicate with diverse teams.

The Role

Software Engineers at Palantir drive large-scale transformation through data, AI and world-leading infrastructure that supports mission-critical workloads. As an engineer within Palantir's Infrastructure teams, you'll have the opportunity to grow more quickly than you ever imagined as you contribute high-quality code directly to:

• The shared infrastructure underpinning Palantir Foundry, Palantir Gotham and Palantir Apollo — platforms deployed at the most important institutions across the public and private sectors
• Rubix and Mission Manager, our new internal-infrastructure business line, used by advanced civil and defence agencies worldwide to power their infrastructure in highly sensitive environments
• The substrate on which Palantir deploys Foundry and Gotham, powering workflows for research scientists, aerospace engineers, intelligence analysts and economic forecasters

This means driving investments that improve the velocity and quality of our engineering. Infrastructure at Palantir spans our Foundations, Production Infrastructure and Foundry teams.

Production Infrastructure organisation, made up of small teams of engineers working on:

• Environment Platform: a Kubernetes-based PaaS spanning hundreds of production clusters
• Apollo: secure, fleet-wide deployment and change-management for complex microservice suites
• Signals: our full suite of observability and alerting tools

Foundry itself is also a developer platform, and many of our users are developers. You\'ll be building tools used by people who build. As a result, applicants may also be considered for other infrastructure roles within the Foundry product team.

• Passion for helping other developers build better applications.
• Empathy for the impact your changes will have on the workflows and productivity of developers and end users.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, including engineers, users, and non-technical team members.
• Willingness to learn and make decisions independently, and the ability to ask questions effectively.
• Eagerness to delve into the source code of open-source libraries (such as Cassandra or Chromium) to truly understand how they work or to debug an issue.
• Staying up-to-date with recent industry practices and advancements in open-source technology.
• Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, frontend frameworks, and other technical tools.
• Experience coding in programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
