Job summary

Saragossa is hiring a Software Engineer to work on the Market Data platform in the UK. You will contribute to building and maintaining the data systems that power major financial clients, with a focus on performance and scalability.

The tech stack is currently C# with a migration to Python, using SQL Server and moving toward PostgreSQL. You’ll analyze existing code, refactor, optimise, and help the platform evolve while delivering reliable production systems.

Software Engineer - Market Data - £85,000

You are joining a world-leading financial market data business, working at the heart of the systems that power some of the biggest names in finance.

Your clients include tier 1 banks, hedge funds and commodity shops so the data you help build and maintain matters, and the scale of it is real.

You sit within the market data team, working closely with Pricing Quants and Risk Strats day to day. Your focus is on building and improving the market data and analytics systems that underpin the business. This is not a role where you are handed a blank canvas every time. You will get into existing codebases, understand them, refactor them and make them faster, more reliable and more scalable.

The tech is C# today, with a migration towards Python underway. On the data side, you are working with SQL Server and moving towards PostgreSQL. The challenge here is scale and performance, processing large volumes of data and making systems that do not break under pressure.

Day to day you will be across new development, performance optimisation, bug fixing, production support and system migration. You are not just keeping the lights on. You have a genuine opportunity to shape how this platform evolves.
