Job summary

Meta is seeking principal engineers for the Central Integrity team to keep billions safe on our platforms. You'll design and deploy AI-powered systems to detect and disrupt harm at unprecedented scale, protecting child safety, fraud, identity, and more while building defenses against frontier threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 8+ years with a PhD.
• Experience mentoring executive stakeholders across organizations.
• Ability to use data analysis to explain technical problems and provide solutions.
• Experience driving large cross-functional engineering efforts.
• Proven track record planning multi-year roadmaps aligning short-term work with long-term mission.

Responsibilities

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language or 8+ years of experience with a PhD
• Experience mentoring/influencing executive stakeholders across organizations
• Experience utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions
• Experience driving large cross-functional, industry-wide engineering efforts
• Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions
• Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmaps in which short-term projects ladder to the long-term mission

Preferred qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• 8+ years relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience
• Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
• Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, or Java, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack
