Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Markets Technology Trading team in London. You will contribute to designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable software components within an agile environment, using Python and AWS-based tooling.

You will work with enterprise AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, while peers review outputs to ensure code quality and security. This role supports growth within a leading financial services firm.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools.
Strong Python skills for data processing and production engineering.
Experience in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and DB querying languages.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

Executes standard software solution, design, development, and troubleshooting.
Writes secure, high-quality code in at least one language with limited guidance.
Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
Designs and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
Gathers data from large, diverse datasets to support secure, stable application development.
