DoorDash is hiring an engineer for the Storefront team to build the digital experiences behind merchants' own branded websites and apps. This is an opportunity to work on highly visible, customer-facing products while solving meaningful platform challenges.

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to goals across your team, lead projects, and collaborate with other teams. You may mentor others and help shape the roadmap and technical direction.

Qualifications

• Experience with Go and/or Python in production systems.
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with NoSQL backends (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache).
• Ability to lead from the front and participate in interviews.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and influence roadmaps.

About the RoleWe're hiring an engineer for the Storefront team to build the digital experiences behind merchants' own branded websites and apps. This is an opportunity to work on highly visible, customer-facing products while solving meaningful platform challenges.

What you'll do?As a Software Engineer at the company, your individual work contributes to achieving goals in and across your team. While you will work with your team and you may lead projects, some of your work will contribute outside of your direct remit. You will report to managers and group leads and together deliver the results.

Technical Execution

• You will improve code structure, have an impact on architecture, and review code of any scope produced by your team.
• You'll aim to simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems, visibility, operational readiness, and health of your team's systems.

Collaboration & Leadership

• As well as leading from the front regarding technical execution, you'll build relationships with other engineering teams and, identify collaboration opportunities.
• You'll own larger pieces of work, assist with design and technical / implementation choices and influence the roadmap within your team.
• You will take an active role in the hiring process and conducting engineering interviews. This will also extend to the current team where you will support the personal growth of colleagues, encouraging efficiency in their roles.

Expectations:We want to emphasise that we don't expect you to meet all of the below but would love you to have experience in some of these areas.

• Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software
• Experience with Go and/or Python
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above)
• Experience with "NoSQL" data backends and other (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache)
• Experience solving logistical problems with software
