Job summary

Motorola Solutions UK Limited seeks a software engineer to join the Avigilon Alta Video UI team. You will work on frontend technologies including Vue 3, Pinia and TypeScript, with exposure to Go backend services.

This hybrid role offers remote work part of the week and offices in central London and Uxbridge. With 2–5 years in software engineering, you’ll implement state management, integrate RESTful APIs, and contribute to scalable, reliable real-time tooling while collaborating across teams to

The Avigilon Alta Video UI team is responsible for the mission‑critical infrastructure that powers our VMS. While our stack features Vue 3, Pinia, and TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend, we prioritize engineering fundamentals over specific library knowledge. We are looking for a developer who can navigate logic, manage state, and help us build maintainable solutions.

Job Description
  • Analyzes, develops, maintains software for the organization’s products and systems.
  • Familiarity with/interest in engineering patterns and best practices.
  • Develops, validates, and tests: can build tested, maintainable code and debug when necessary.
  • Implements state management patterns and API integrations to support a scaling ecosystem.
  • Delivery: basic understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment, Git.
  • Communicates: comfortable collaborating with other teams on solutions and reaching out for information/requirements when necessary.
Basic Requirements
  • Experience: 2-5 years of software engineering experience with knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and ideally modern frontend frameworks.
  • Logic & State: Understanding of application state patterns, data flows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex, or Redux) and reactivity/observables.
  • API & Infrastructure: hands‑on experience with RESTful API, websockets.. Solid understanding of web development principles.
  • Engineering Mindset: a good foundation in data structures/algorithms and design patterns.
  • Ability to see the long‑term implications of solutions.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated team player skills and a willingness to work with others.

  • Tests the code.
  • Analysis: ability to investigate and get to the root cause of issues and find a solution.
