Software Engineer - Autonomous Platforms (Automotive and Robotics)
THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking an experienced software engineer to join its automotive and robotics embedded solutions team. In this role, you’ll help shape software strategy and build platforms that showcase physical AI with emerging tools and workflows. You’ll directly leverage AMD technology to collaborate closely with the open‑source and developer communities to push boundaries and accelerate adoption. You’ll join a high‑performance team with a proven track record of delivering immersive technology demonstrators at events such as CES and Embedded World. THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software and systems engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. They must be able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners
  • Integration Lead for assigned PoC creation (Robotics and/or Automotive)
  • Work closely with community on projects such as ROS2, Navigation, Motion
  • Help deploy AMD’s physical AI across Robotics and/or Automotive
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong object‑oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred
  • Machine Learning Frameworks and programming paradigms
  • Fluent with Python
  • Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and/or Android operating system development
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
  • Effective communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
