Job description

Brim makes EV Chargers and develops software to solve tomorrow's energy problems. Founded by industry leaders and focused on the new-build sector, Brim partners with many of the UK's largest homebuilders. As we enter venture capital funding rounds, we're expanding quickly and are looking for three pivotal engineers to strengthen our software team. Before your interview, visit www.fulltothebrim.com to learn more about us.

The Role

We're building technology that is being deployed across the UK's new‑build sector right now. As one of two new engineers joining our growing team, you'll have genuine ownership over significant parts of our platform from backend services to cloud infrastructure.

You’ll tackle varied problems, ship meaningful features and have direct impact on a product that’s actively scaling.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Building and maintaining our EV charging platform across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure
  • Designing APIs and system architecture that scales with our growth
  • Writing clean, tested code in TypeScript, Python, and Flutter
  • Solving real‑world integration challenges with charging hardware (OCPP)
  • Contributing to technical decisions in an agile, collaborative environment
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping products
  • Solid fundamentals in software engineering and problem‑solving
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Working knowledge of databases (MongoDB, SQL, or similar)
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, or Flutter (or keen to learn)
  • OCPP experience is a bonus, but we’ll teach you

We’re a startup so you won’t know everything on day one. We look for people who are curious, adaptable, and want to contribute across various technologies.

Why Join Brim?
  • Real equity in a funded startup: We’re entering VC rounds with strong commercial traction
  • Genuine impact: Your work goes into homes across the UK with major housebuilders
  • Technical ownership: Shape architecture and decisions, not just tickets
  • Accessible location: Walking distance from West Malling station, easy commute from London/Kent

We’re not in Shoreditch, but you’ll get the startup energy, meaningful equity, and technical challenges without the London rent.
