Responsibilities

  • Building clean, maintainable and well-tested Python applications, services and integrations.
  • Designing and developing integrations between internal and external platforms to automate security and intelligence workflows.
  • Working closely with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and efficient software delivery.
  • Deploying, operating and troubleshooting applications running in containerised and Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to engineering standards, best practices and ways of working.
  • Investigating incidents, resolving defects and identifying opportunities to improve resilience, security and performance.
  • Helping shape technical designs while balancing scalability, maintainability and delivery timelines.
  • Monitoring live services, identifying issues and proactively driving improvements.
  • Continuously developing your technical skills and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Designing and developing solutions that make effective use of AI capabilities to automate processes, enrich data and improve operational decision-making.

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer (Threat Intelligence Platforms)

LOCATION: Edinburgh, Bristol or Manchester

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our office location.

About this Opportunity: Our Threat Intelligence Engineering team builds and maintains the platforms, integrations and automation that help turn intelligence into action. We work across a range of security and intelligence tooling, connecting data sources, automating workflows and developing services that enable analysts and security teams to make better decisions, faster. As a Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and supporting the integrations and services that underpin our threat intelligence capability. You'll be working on modern engineering platforms and cloud-native solutions, helping to improve the quality, accessibility and value of intelligence across the organisation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability and operational support practices.
  • Understanding of AI technologies and how they can be applied to automate workflows, improve data quality and enhance intelligence-driven decision making.
